Who else is a Rainbow bee-eater fan? I just love them! They remind me of fluffy tennis balls that sound like mobile phones chirping. In case you haven’t turned to November in your calendar yet, your pinup for the month is, you guessed it, Rainbow bee-eaters. These little guys are masked bee thieves. Literally! They are fond of stealing the bees from their hives in our backyard and they can swoop and dive for hours doing that.
This photo was taken on a rainy afternoon (hence you’ll see some lines in the photo). Picture me, crouched stealthily amongst the ferns and undergrowth in our garden like some bird paparazzi with my camera pointed at my neighbour’s pool fence (nobody was in the pool!). That’s what was involved in taking this photo! Despite my leg cramps and general dampness from the rain, getting this photo was well worth the discomfort. I hope you love it too.
If you’re following along on my Facebook or Instagram, you’ll know this news already and I apologise for the double-up. I am very excited to share that my next children’s book, ‘The Frog Hotel’ is now available! You can order a copy from my Etsy shop if you are in Australia or you can order direct from me by emailing or direct messaging on socials. Cost = $20 AUD plus postage.
Here’s a little snippet from the back cover of the book…. “Fergus the Australian green tree frog was chased from his home and now he is lost! Fergus must find a new place to sleep before the sun goes down. Will this frog explorer find his way home?” I’ll be posting more information soon about the book.
Also, a little reminder about my gift catalogue! If you’d like to order in time for end-of-year festivities, please consider ordering sooner rather than later so that I can make sure I have your order ready and sent to you in time. I am adding new things to the collection, the latest being a beautiful sacred kingfisher and a galah, so please do keep checking socials and my Etsy Shop. You can order directly from me or my Etsy shop if you prefer.
Have an awesome November!
